The Lenovo Slim 7i 14 2024 is a laptop designed for users who prioritise a traditional form factor without compromising premium features or performance. This laptop has quad speakers for immersive audio and an FHD webcam with human presence detection. But the most fascinating thing about this is its OLED display. This display can deliver accurate colour and deep contrast. As a result you can enjoy an unparalleled multimedia experience. Intel’s Core Ultra H-series chips power this laptop. It can effortlessly handle demanding tasks while offering battery life that exceeds the standard eight-hour workday. These features fascinate me, so I have decided to test the laptop. Now, in this content, I will express what I have found after testing this laptop for a few days.
Design Of Lenovo Slim 7i:
You’ll love the Lenovo Slim 7i 14 for its simple yet sophisticated design. It’s got a sleek silver aluminium body that reminds you of those premium ultraportable laptops like the MacBook Air. It feels luxurious with its all-aluminium build. Lenovo made sure every little thing was just right with this laptop. It’s got nice smooth edges, a cool Luna Grey colour, and feels nice with its matte finish. And let me tell you, it’s tough. This laptop has 21 certifications for being super durable, so you know it won’t break easily. Even though it’s sturdy, it’s not heavy, just about 3.15 pounds. And it’s thin, too, only 0.59 inches. So, it’s easy to carry around, but it still works well. It’s great for people who want a laptop that looks good, won’t break easily, and is easy to use wherever they go.
Lenovo Slim 7i Display:
You’ve got two choices for the screen: one you can touch and one you can’t. If you go for the touch option, you’ll get a nice 14-inch screen that’s super clear and colourful, with a 16:10 shape. Both screens are good for your eyes because they have a special certification that makes them easier to look at for a long time. They use Dolby Vision Technology to make colours look extra bright and clear. The screen can get bright, up to 400 nits, and refreshes 60 times per second. So everything will look smooth. Even though the touch screen doesn’t have the highest resolution, it still looks great with bright colours and covers a wide range. It might be better for fast games, but it’s perfect for watching videos or using apps. Plus, it’s easy on your eyes with Dolby Vision and the special certification.
Webcam:
You can enjoy clear video calls with the Lenovo Slim 7i 14’s FHD webcam. The camera delivers sharp and well-exposed images. Although its resolution isn’t the highest, your video calls will still be top-notch. The Slim 7i 14 has human presence detection through an IR sensor for security. It automatically locks and unlocks your device, keeping it safe when you’re away and easily accessible when you return. Worried about privacy? Not no problem with the Slim 7i 14’s webcam shutter toggle switch. Slide it to cover the webcam lens when not in use. As a result, it will ensure your privacy is protected. It’s a common feature, and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 also has this type of webcam cover. With these advanced webcam and security features, the Lenovo Slim 7i 14 ensures your video calls are clear and your device is secure.
Audio Quality:
I have experienced top-notch audio with the Lenovo Slim 7i 14’s four 2W speakers. You can customise your sound with Dolby audio settings in the Vantage app. You will get immersive audio enhancements with Dolby Atmos. Overall it’s one of the best laptops in terms of audio. With an automatic speaker tuning feature, this laptop will provide the best voice quality during calls. It’s a device that will ensure superior audio for all your activities, from gaming to watching movies.

Performance of Lenovo Slim 7i:
Inside, it’s got a really strong 16-core processor that can go super fast, up to 4.8 GHz. And with Intel Arc graphics, everything runs smoothly and efficiently. The processor mixes CPU, GPU, and NPU to handle smart stuff like finding objects or understanding languages. So whether you’re doing homework or being creative, this laptop will help you do it without hiccups. Even though it’s small, it has many ways to connect stuff. USB ports, HDMI, and even super-fast USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 tech. So you’re all set if you need to plug in a mouse, a screen, or a fast drive. Worried about keeping your stuff safe? This laptop has a special sensor for quick logins and a shutter for your camera, so your data stays yours no matter where you are. And don’t worry about it getting too noisy or hot. It stays quiet and cool even when you’re doing lots of stuff. So whether you’re watching videos, doing homework, or playing a game, you’ll have a smooth and fun time with this laptop.
Battery Life & Charging:
When you use the Slim 7i (2024), you’ll love how long the battery lasts, even with its powerful features like the OLED screen and Core Ultra 7 155H CPU. You can count on getting about eight hours of battery life on a full charge. As a result, you can stay productive all day without worrying about running out of power. And if you do need to recharge, don’t worry it’s super quick. In just 20 minutes, you can get up to 33% battery and get back to work or play without waiting around.
Keyboard and Trackpad:
The keyboard on the Slim 7i might feel different at first, especially if you’re used to softer keys. But once you get used to it, you’ll find that the keys have a nice, snappy feel with a satisfying 1.5mm travel distance. Plus, plenty of space between the keys, including punctuation and arrow keys, makes it easy to type comfortably. However, there’s no option to adjust the backlight brightness on the keyboard. It only has an on/off setting. The Slim 7i includes a Copilot key, which gives you quick access to the Windows AI assistant. This allows you to interact with AI for various everyday tasks, adding convenience to your workflow. Now, onto the trackpad. Sometimes, it feels loose, like it’s been used often. But it still works well. It’s quick to respond when you touch it, and it feels just right when you press down on it. You can do all sorts of things with it, like swiping and clicking. Lenovo even added some clever features to change the screen brightness or volume by touching the trackpad.
Pros and Cons:
