Design
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a sleek design and a brighter screen. Its new chipset ensures smooth performance. You’ll enjoy the advanced Galaxy AI features. It’s built with tough Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the outside. The robust and flexible hinge keeps the phone open at any angle. This new hinge is minor and supports a broader cover screen, making the phone thinner and lighter at 239g. It offers better dust protection with an IP48 rating. The front screen is more balanced and more extensive. It’s the lightest foldable Samsung has ever made, similar in weight to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The crease in visibility and feel has also improved.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Display
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 6.3-inch cover screen with a 22:9 aspect ratio that can get bright, up to 1550 nits in auto mode. When you open it, you’ll see a 7.6-inch foldable OLED screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a 10.5:9 aspect ratio. This inner screen can get even brighter, up to 1600 nits in auto mode. Both screens support HDR 10+ for fantastic colors and contrast. Although there’s still a noticeable crease on the inner screen, the 7.6-inch display is excellent for watching movies, playing games, and getting work done.
Performance
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and has 12GB of RAM. You start with 256GB of storage but can choose up to 1TB. It’s great for multitasking and supports the S Pen, though it’s not built-in. It uses Android 14 with One UI 6.1 for smooth performance and gets seven years of software updates.
The Snapdragon hn3 chipset gives solid performance but scores a bit lower than the Galaxy S24 Ultra in benchmarks. It has better cooling with a larger vapor chamber but can still get quite hot during prolonged, intense use.
Camera Quality of Galaxy Z Fold 6 Display
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 50MP primary camera that performs well in daylight and low light. The 10MP telephoto camera has mixed results, with some haziness at times. The 12MP ultra-wide camera captures good detail but can make some noise.
For selfies, you can use the rear cameras with the cover screen, a 10MP cover screen camera, or a 4MP under-display camera for video calls. The phone records video in 8K with the primary camera, improving 4K performance with good stabilization.
Battery Life
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 4400mAh battery. Its battery life is similar to that of the previous model, around 11 hours and 31 minutes of active use. It supports 25W charging, but the charger isn’t included in the box. Charging is slow, taking 30 minutes to reach 38% and about 1 hour and 41 minutes for a full charge. It also supports wireless and reverse wireless charging.
UI
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 uses One UI 6.1.1 on top of Android 14. You’ll get a taskbar for quick shortcuts and smooth switching between the cover and inner screens. The Flex mode panel works with some apps, and you can efficiently multitask with split screens and floating windows. AI features like transcription, Circle to search, and a live interpreter. You can also use the stylus for the Sketch to Image feature. Plus, you’ll enjoy seven years of OS upgrades and security patches.
Price and availability
The phone was released on 24th July 2024. So you can tell this is one of the newest phones on the market. The price of this phone starts at $1900 at Amazon.
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers a lot with its sleek design, bright screens, and powerful performance than Galaxy Z Flip 6. It is proficient at multitasking and offers advanced features like AI tools and stylus support. The best thing I love about the phone is its versatility and long-term software support, which makes it a strong choice for those who want a cutting-edge, foldable device.
