Apple AirPods Pro 2 is one of the most hyped earbuds available in the market. Apple has promised some new features and advanced technology in this product, so I was a little bit curious about it. As a music fan, I decided to test these new AirPods from Apple. Here is my personal opinion after testing this product.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 Design & Build Quality
The AirPods Pro Gen 2 might look very similar to the previous model at first glance. However, some key differences set them apart. One of the most noticeable changes is the placement of the dual vents, which are now positioned at the top of the earbuds. This subtle shift in design is easy to spot once you know what to look for. Apple has introduced an extra small ear tip option, making the AirPods Pro Gen 2 more comfortable for a broader range of users.
Another handy feature is the new swipe controls on the stem, allowing you to adjust the volume with a simple swipe up or down. The inward-facing microphones have also been improved, enhancing the overall sound quality and noise cancellation. Lastly, a practical lanyard loop has been added to the side of the charging case, making it easier to carry your AirPods Pro Gen 2 with you wherever you go.
Sound Quality of Apple AirPods Pro 2
The AirPods Pro Gen 2 comes with some nice upgrades in sound and noise cancellation, making them even better than the previous model. You’ll notice that the sound quality is improved, with deeper bass that doesn’t overpower the other tones. With effective noise cancellation, you can enjoy listening at lower volumes, which is better for your ears.
One significant change is the new H2 chip, along with better amplifiers and drivers. This means you’ll get deeper bass and more transparent highs, making your music sound great. There’s also a personalized spatial audio feature, though it doesn’t make a massive difference in real life. The head tracking feature, however, is fun and adds a new dimension to listening, especially if this is the first time you have tried it.
The sound quality is balanced with good bass and much better lows and mids, without much distortion, even at high volumes. While they don’t offer lossless audio, the AirPods Pro Gen 2 still supports high-quality 16-bit/48 kilohertz audio. These upgrades make them the best-sounding earbuds Apple has made so far.
ANC ( advance noise cancellation)
The AirPods Pro Gen 2 performs best with a good ear fit, which is crucial for their active noise cancellation (ANC). While they are better than the first generation, the Bose QuietComfort II still beats them in noise cancellation.
You’ll appreciate that the adequate ANC lets you listen at lower volumes, reducing the risk of ear damage. The AirPods Pro Gen 2 are a solid upgrade, even though they aren’t the top in noise cancellation.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 Review of Battery
The AirPods Pro Gen 2 offer six hours of battery life with ANC on, a 33% improvement over the first generation. You also get four and a half hours of continuous talk time. With the case, you can get up to 30 hours of total battery life, which is more than enough for typical use.
Price and availability
Apple is known for making premium products and the price of their product is higher than its competitors. The price of the AirPods Pro Gen 2 is $249 on apple website. Compared to its competitor Samsung Galaxy Bud 3 Pro its price is way cheaper.
Best alternative for AirPods Pro Gen 2
Recently, I tested the new Samsung Galaxy Bud 3 Pro. This device is also a fantastic Samsung earbud. It will give stiff competition to Apple AirPods Pro 2. Here is an article of mine where I discussed my personal experience testing the new Samsung earbuds 3 Pro. If you want, you can check that out.
Conclusion
Lastly, I am pretty satisfied with the test result of the Apple AirPods Pro 3. This works very well with iOS devices. If you have an iPhone or iPad, I recommend this AirPods Pro 3 rather than any other AirPods.
